Spring Break 2009 ~ Proyecto Abrigo 

Juarez, Mexico

On March 15, 2009 a group from FUMC of Bridgeport joined with teams from Rockbridge UMC, FUMC of Richardson, and FUMC of Commerce with the purpose of spreading God's love to the people they would come in contact with in Juarez.  By working through Proyecto Abrigo (Website), an organization who has been enabling teams to build homes for families in the poorer communities in the outskirts of Juarez, Mexico.  The team accomplished the task of helping two families, by building two homes, playing with kids, and simply trying to be a loving presence.  People that could not make it on the trip this year were able to support the trip by providing things like tools, toys, rice, and beans that the team left with Proyecto Abrigo to help the people in Juarez.
